Electric Flow Boiler: Complete Life Cycle Project

Advance Appliances are independent specialist in Quality Hot Water Systems, based in Brownhills, West Midlands.

The eGlow is a well-established flow boiler available in 6kw, 9kw and 12kw output options.  Designed for conventional vented wet systems for radiators or underfloor heating.

Xitek were approached by Geoff Egginton of Advances Appliances, who was recommended to use our services by the Manufacturing Advisory Service, to assist with enhancements to an existing design for an electric coilber controller.

Working closely with Geoff, Advance Appliances' Director, Xitek's design team identified the changes required, producing full technical specification, schematics, bill of materials and comprehensive test plan.  Software code enhancements were also applied to improve the boiler performance and recommendations made for mechancial construction and electrical safety.  A review of the internal layout of the boiler elelctrical components was carried out to ensure the best practice for manufacturing efficiency and future service of the product.   Detailed wiring diagrams were produced and two working prototypes were manufactured.

Following satisfactory trials, a first production batch of PCB assemblies, harnesses and component supply was successfully completed and incorporated into the final production unit.

Xitek were responsible for the entire project from specification, prototyping through to final product build.  The ability to create a fast turnaround and response during testing allowed the project to progress quickly to manufacture.  Xitek were also able to hand hold during the CE marking process and incorporate all of the needs to enable the project to be completed.  Importantly Xitek can continue to offer support during the lifecycle of the product.

Xitek continue to work with Geoff on further designs to expand the range of water heaters and boilers available for Advance Appliances' customers.
